The Department of Tourism is pleased to announce the formulation of the New Accreditation Standards for Hotels, Resorts and Apartment Hotels. The new standards adopt a star grading system, from 1 to 5 stars.

Introducing the new DOT Accreditation Online System.

What’s New?

·         Improved System Interface for better user experience

o   Related information is now grouped using form TABS for a more organized users’ screens

o   Screen flows are stream-lined for faster accessing and processing of  information

o   Grid Views are introduced for easier adding, editing and deleting of data/information

o   Grid Views also allow “in-line” editing so users can update data much faster

o   Several view options are now available to suit users' preferences

o   The system now has form/page footer that provides short cut links to view user's notifications and tasks.  It also shows the current count of new notifications and any pending tasks the user may have.

·         Enhanced User Account Management.  This provides the following enhanced standard facilities:

o   Account Registration Application – user name and password will be automatically generated upon approval of DOT and upon confirmation of applicant

o   “Forgot Your Password” Facility – users can request password reset using this facility

o   Change Password Facility – users can change password anytime using this facility

·         Faster Search Facility

o   Users can now perform search faster through the searchable columns of the available grid views

·         System Built-in Notification

o   Users will receive notification through the system for tasks or action items that need their attention

DOT Accreditation

      is a certificate issued by the department recognizing the holder as having complied with its minimum standards in the operation of the establishment concerned which shall ensure the safety, comfort, and convenience of the tourist.

Eligibility

The following may apply for accreditation with the Department of Tourism

  • A resident Filipino Citizen
  • A partnership organized under the laws of the Philippines, at least 60% of its capital being owned by Filipino Citizens
  • A corporation organized under the laws of the Philippines, at least 60% of the subscribed common or voting shares of stocks of which is owned by Filipino citizens and the composition of its Board of Directors being at least 60% Filipinos
  • Entity applicant is already in operation

Additional eligibility qualifications:

For Tourist Land Transport Operators:

  • A minimum of three (3) vehicles covered with a valid “Tourist Transport Franchise” issued by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board
  • The vehicles shall not be more than:
         Ten (10) years for cars, jeepneys and vans
         Fifteen (15) years for buses and coasters

For Tourist Taxi Driver (Metered and Coupon):

  • Shall have passed a Tourist Taxi Drivers Seminar conducted by the Department of Tourism

For Tourist Guide/Cave Guide/Mountain Guide

  • Shall have passed a Tour Guiding Seminar conducted by the Department of Tourism

For Travel and Tour Agency

  • The General Manager shall have at least three (3) years managerial experience in tour operations and/or has attended a tour operator’s course or a travel agency management course
  • With Inbound and/or Local tours
  • A minimum working capital requirement of P500,000.00

Non-fiscal Incentives

  1. Endorsement to COMELEC for exemption from Liqour ban during Election-related events (for Accommodation Establishments and Restaurants Only)
  2. Endorsement to Embassies and Travel Trade Association/s for utilization of Establishment’s Facilities and Services
  3. Priority to DOT Training Programs
  4. Issuance of DOT ID Card to Bonafide Employees
  5. Endorsement to International and Domestic Airports (if appropriate) for Issuance of Access Pass to Qualified Personnel (for Tour Operators and Accommodation Establishments Only)
  6. Qualification for Exemption from the Unified Vehicular Volume Reducation Program (UVVRP) of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) (for Tourist Land Transport Vehicles Only)
  7. Endorsement to LTFRB for Issuance of Tourist Transport Franchise (for Tourist Land Transport Vehicles Only); and
  8. Technical/Security/Facilitation Support or Assistance

ABOUT ONLINE ACCREDITATION SYSTEM

The DOT Online Accreditation System is a web based system designed to facilitate the online processing of the complete DOT accreditation cycle. This enhanced version of the online system introduces improved features and functionalities such as the following:

STEPS IN APPLYING ONLINE (New Application)

A. Register an Account

  1. Go to
    http://accreditationonline.tourism.gov.ph/default.aspx
  2. Click Login -> Register an Account
  3. Fill out the three (3) preliminary and important details before proceeding to the main registration form.
  4. Fill out the registration form

Important Notes!

  • To ensure successful registration, please make sure to fill out the form correctly and carefully review the information you entered.
  • Make sure that the email address you entered is VALID/ACTIVE. For ESTABLISHMENTS, ensure that this is a corporate email address or an email address that will be permanently associated to your company. Avoid using personal email address if you are applying as ESTABLISHMENT.
  • Your official e-mail address MUST contain the establishment's business name.
  • The E-mail Address you entered will be used to receive your initial password as well as all notifications regarding your profile and applications.
  • Make sure to fill out all available tabs in the form (i.e. Main Profile and Capitalization for Establishments or Educational Attainment for Frontliners).
  • Make sure that all fields marked with red asterisk ('*') are properly filled up.

B. Pay the Required Fee

  1. Print the Order of Payment by following these steps: Log in to the System -> Go to My Profile > Application History -> Open the application form -> Go to Payments Tab -> Click “Print Order of Payment”.
  2. Pay the required fee at your nearest DOT Regional Office (make sure to keep the Official Receipt).
  3. Once payment has been made, encode the payment details by following these steps: Log in to the System -> Go to My Profile > Application History -> Open the application form -> Go to Payments Tab.

C. Accomplish the Application Form

  1. Make sure to fill out all available tabs in the form (ex. Main Profile, Capitalization, Employees, Vehicles, Drivers or which ever is available).
  2. Make sure that all fields marked with red asterisk ('*') are properly filled up.
  3. Make sure to upload the valid/correct Documentary Requirements through the Documentary Requirements Tab of the application form.

D. Submit the Accomplished Application Form

Important Notes!

  • For any update or further instructions (ex. Resubmission of documents, additional payment, etc.), it is highly recommended that you log in to the system from time to time as you will receive notifications regarding your application through the system’s built-in Notifications facility AND through email notification.
  • If you wish to make an inquiry about your application, you may use the Forum facility of the system through the Forum Tab found in the application form: Log in to the System -> Go to My Profile > Application History -> Open the application form -> Go to Forum Tab.

E. Claim Accreditation

Claim your Accreditation CERTIFICATE or any other Accreditation-related documents such as IDs, stickers and endorsement letter whichever is applicable.


STEPS IN APPLYING ONLINE (Renewal)

A. Apply for Renewal

  1. Log in to the online system.
  2. Go to My Account -> Apply For...

B. Pay the Required Fee

  1. Print the Order of Payment by following these steps: Log in to the System -> Go to My Profile > Application History -> Open the application form -> Go to Payments Tab -> Click “Print Order of Payment”.
  2. Pay the required fee at your nearest DOT Regional Office (make sure to keep the Official Receipt).
  3. Once payment has been made, encode the payment details by following these steps: Log in to the System -> Go to My Profile > Application History -> Open the application form -> Go to Payments Tab.

C. Accomplish the Application Form
